This concept house design was developed as part of my master’s thesis to test how bio-based materials could be incorporated into a simple, self-build framework for rural New Zealand. Set on a site in Omaui, Southland, the design uses a hybrid earth/hemp block system which acts as an all-in-one structural, thermal, and weatherproof envelope to assess how these materials perform against real contextual and regulatory conditions.
