I’ve been exploring earth as a material, and this project brings it down to an object scale. The base is rammed earth, compacted in layers and left exposed to reveal its natural texture and composition.

The shade is hand-formed aluminium, hammered and planished by my brother, introducing a contrasting material and fabrication process.

Developed between Central Otago and Wellington, the components were designed together through video calls and made separately before being brought together.
